About Me:

Hello! My name is David P. McEntee, but my friends call me Dave for short.

I love telling stories, exploring the outdoors, making films and hiking. I assume the latter is how you heard of me, right? Recently I’ve been putting all of my time and effort into making hiking films on YouTube. I’ve grown my channel from 200subs to nearly 10,000! (2023) - it has been the most fun and rewarding thing I’ve ever done!

I’ve wanted to make films ever since I saw glimpses of Lord Of The Rings around my uncles house when I was about 10 years old. I was fascinated with the whole idea that you could make a life out of telling stories and holding a camera!? It seemed so alien, so crazy and yet so amazing at the same time.

Years later after struggling with traditional school subjects - I scraped into Sixth-Form and studied Photography & Film Studies. This is really when I began to find my feet and is also when I first got my hands on a PROPER camera. After this I went on to obtain a 1st class Film Production Degree at Winchester University and worked on various film sets (I’m talking Warner Brothers, Sky and HBO High End TV Shows)… It was awesome!

But ultimately not for me.

As cool as it was to be on those multi-million $$$ productions - I’m not afraid to say that I wanted to be the one HOLDING the camera, not the one fetching the coffees and manning the hallways.

SO, I turned to my second love - Videography. Having already created various promotional, testimonial, corporate and vloggie projects for various cool clients - this was an easy and exciting pivot for me.

Now I work as a Videographer, Photographer and and have completed work for some top tier clients!. I’ve also put together a production company with my brother so - if you want to learn about that then checkout our nice new site:

BUT ENOUGH OF THAT NONSENSE!

Hiking, The Outdoors, Adventure - my true love and calling.

I genuinely believe there is nothing better then challenging yourself, getting out on an adventure and pushing yourself to new limits. In early 2021 I had the realisation that if I didn’t get comfortable with exploring the outside world - by myself, then I might be limited to only one or two excursions a year. Which to me was completely unacceptable.

And THUS my Solo Hiking films on YouTube were birthed. Inspired by Creators like Kraig Adams, Elina Osborne, Casey Neistat, Chase Mountains and Wild Beare - I realised that if I turned my videography skills to my own passion for the outside world - then I might well be able to turn it into a living. Of course, it’s a slow and long journey - but I’m okay with that as I’m here for the long haul.

I have absolutely LOVED creating these films, exploring more of the UK and building an adventure focused community. The messages I receive off the back of these films are heart warming and it’s honestly such a gift that my films are reaching people and impacting them already. I appreciate your attention and interest so so much, I hope that this site and all the other resources I intend to create give you as much value as you all have given me.

Climbing Mont Blanc and filming for Adventure Base is an obvious highpoint of the journey so far. I look forward to continue to work with them and other outdoor Adventure outfitting companies soon. I am also unbelievably excited for the road ahead. I am optimistic for the future and can’t wait to share more adventures with you all soon.
